Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is to lead a strong Qatar tourism delegation to the annual ITB-Asia exhibition.   This three-day B2B trade show and convention - now in its seventh year – will take place at Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, from 29th to 31st October 2014. ITB Asia will provide a forum bringing more than 850 Asia Pacific and other international exhibitors from all travel trade sectors together. Attendance is expected exceed last year’s total of 9,100 visitors from 110 countries.

The QTA delegation, which includes seven leading Doha hotels and three destination management companies, will represent and promote Qatar as a unique and leading destination in the MICE and leisure tourism. Emphasis will be placed on the country’s exceptional location and accessibility, thanks to direct flights to over 140 cities around the world through the Qatar Airways network, including excellent services to all major South East Asian capitals.

QTA views the rapidly developing economies of ASEAN region as a major potential growth market for both business and leisure travel.  Besides extensive point-to-point travel connectivity via Doha and its state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport, QTA will be actively promoting longer stopovers for travellers en route from South East Asia to Europe. Contributing to this effort, a significant portion of the Qatar stand will be devoted to showcasing the country’s cultural attractions.

A key message at ITB-Asia will be Qatar’s attractions as a MICE destination. In this regard, an important USP will be the outstanding facilities of the Qatar National Convention Centre.
