Following the successful debut last year of the Middle East’s only ‘Pre-Owned Boat Show’, organisers Dubai Creek Marina along with title sponsor Midex Airlines are encouraging sailing enthusiasts from Qatar to attend this year’s expanded show, to be held from November 17th to 19th.

With at least half of Qatari nationals owning a boat of some form, whether it’s a small speed boat, dhow or yacht, demand is high in Qatar. Further development of its marina network with projects like The Pearl, Lusail and the new Doha Port is also stimulating Qatar’s demand for boats. The only event of its kind ever in the region, the Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show brings together sellers and buyers of pre-owned yachts from around the region for a ‘one stop-shop’, providing yachting enthusiasts value and choice in a fun-filled family setting featuring entertainment for adults and kids alike.

“The inaugural event last year was a resounding success attracting over 5,000 visitors, including over 60 boats and over 20 retailers, with boats to the value of over QAR 54.5 million on display. As successful as it was, we are confident that this year’s event will be even bigger, so we have invited regional exhibitors and guests and have even expanded the exhibition area by 20%,” said Mustafa Al Hashimi, Club Manager of Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

Speaking about his expectations for this year’s event, Mustafa Al Hashimi said: “With the expanded venue for this year’s Boat Show, potential buyers from Qatar will have an even larger range of options of affordable crafts in different classes to choose from. The Boat Show will also provide an even larger audience of yachting enthusiasts from all around the region for exhibitors from Qatar to showcase their crafts to. We welcome Qatari buyers and sellers to register as soon as they can, as we anticipate high participation.”

With key partners such as Arabian Scandinavian Insurance Co. (ASCANA) on site to provide alternative modes of insurance and Gulf Finance on hand to provide marine finance for buyers, customers looking to purchase a pre-owned vessel are in a position to conveniently ‘buy it and sail it’ back home. For Qatari buyers not able to sail back immediately, the Dubai Creek Marina will be able to berth their vessels in the state-of-the-art facilities free of charge for up to a month.

From the basic to the exclusive, the Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show will showcase a selection of boats that cater to all tastes and needs, ranging from 25 ft to 165 ft and prices of less than QAR 30,000 through to nearly QAR 25 million.

Exhibitors can choose to display their boats on land or sea, at a cost of QAR 25 per foot per day on water, or on land cost per day per bay for QAR 500, with retail space starting from QAR 1240 per day. Dubai Creek Marina, in association with its partners, has introduced specially designed travel packages for boat enthusiasts from Qatar.

With “Awaken” package daily rates starting from QAR 1,561 for a single room and QAR 1,859 for a double room, visitors to The Dubai Pre-Owned Boat Show will be able to buy it, sell it and sail it all while relaxing in the comfort of the idyllic Park Hyatt hotel, nestled in the Marina area on the Dubai Creek. Visitors can also take advantage of the “Awaken” package at other Hyatt hotels including the Grand Hyatt and Hyatt Regency.
