Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) Health Professions Awareness and Volunteering Programs recently organized the Fifth Career Fair for high school students to learn about job opportunities in the healthcare. The fair was held at Hamad Bin Khalifa Medical City’s Hotel and Club for three consecutive days and was attended by students and staff from over 75 schools in Qatar.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Hamad Al Khalifa, Chief of Health Facilities at HMC, and Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Executive Director of Corporate Communications at HMC, in the presence of Ms. Balqees Al Khazraji, HMC’s Director of Health Professions Awareness and Volunteering Programs. The fair served as a gathering for students, volunteers and social service staff to discover new opportunities within HMC. The first day of the fair was dedicated to female students while the second day was exclusive to male students, and the third day was open to the general public.

Ms. Al Khazraji highlighted the objectives of the event: “The aim of the exhibition was to provide students and parents with an opportunity to engage in discussions with HMC staff from various specialties to obtain appropriate information and advice about the best academic and career programs available in the field of healthcare. We also provided participants with information about local and overseas educational scholarships and sponsorships, which are available across many different specialties in the healthcare sector.”

She added: “The exhibition provided a wonderful opportunity to encourage and inspire students to plan for a distinguished future with HMC. We are especially glad to attract Qatari youths as they will be inspired to become part of the highly-skilled human resources for the country.”
