In celebration of Qatar National Day, Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is rolling out an exciting line-up of events and activities to recognize Qatar National Day and to foster a sense of national identity among locals and expatriates.

Various events will be held across HMC’s hospitals and facilities throughout the week leading up to 18 December.

Qatar National Day, which is celebrated each year on 18 December, is a very special day, during which citizens and residents across Qatar celebrate together. With pride and honor, they come together to reflect on Qatar’s successes, commemorate the country’s foundation, and encourage a sense of pride among nationals as well as those living in the country. Mr. Ali Abdulla Al Khater, Chief Communications Officer, Corporate Communications Department at HMC said: “We take this opportunity to congratulate and express our gratitude and loyalty to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar and His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir and to the entire Qatari people on the occasion of Qatar National Day.”

This year’s festivities will include a number of activities which will take place across all HMC’s hospitals. Patients, employees and their families are invited to participate as Qatar shares its happiness and joy with its citizens. During the celebrations, the main lobby of all HMC hospitals will be fully decorated with Qatari flags and flowers to welcome patients, visitors and staff. There will be face painting for children together with the singing of national songs and recitations. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet clinicians to find out more about how to lead a healthy lifestyle and also to get medical advice on various topics of interest.

Commenting on the planned celebrations, Mr. Hassan Mohammad Al Hail, Acting Executive Director of Public Relations and Media at HMC’s Corporate Communications Department said: “Being part of these celebrations will not only showcase Qatari patriotism but will also familiarize non-Qatari citizens with the local culture depicted through the broad range of activities held across all HMC facilities. We wanted to join in the celebrations by planning a range of activities to mark Qatar National Day and are providing our employees and our patients with a unique opportunity to experience the true spirit of our great country.’’

“Taking part in Qatar National Day celebrations demonstrates HMC’s commitment to making a positive difference to the lives of nationals and people living in Qatar, highlighting that Qatar is at the heart of everything HMC’s does,” Mr. Al Hail added.
