ExxonMobil Qatar has announced a host of entertainment and activities available for visitors of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2016. As the title sponsor of the tournament, ExxonMobil Qatar organizes a series of creative events at its stand in the Public Village each year, carefully designed to be appealing to visitors of all ages.

The tournament truly showcases the energy of Qatar and its appeal as an attractive destination for tourists and business people alike.

As part of the multitude of activities at its stand in the Public Village, and due to popular demand, ExxonMobil Qatar has brought the Mercedes Car Simulator, which will provide visitors with an interactive and realistic racing experience based on a full-size specification racing car. With an authentic, padded cockpit headrest, four-point racing harness, gear lever paddles, and a quick release carbon fibre steering wheel, the Mercedes Car Simulator will allow drivers to experience the unique movement of the car under realistic acceleration, braking and cornering conditions. A built-in 5.1 surround sound system will also provide users with a full-sensory experience.

In addition, ExxonMobil Qatar has brought back the “ExxonMobil Minute” at this year’s tournament. Throughout the tournament, lucky spectators will have the chance to catch tennis balls served randomly into the crowds by tennis stars, following each match. The winners can then head to the ExxonMobil Qatar stand at the Public Village to claim their valuable prizes. Visitors of the stand also have the opportunity to pick up tennis balls signed by tennis players who drop by the stand on a daily basis. 

The Public Village is the place to be during the tournament with so much to see and do. There is something fun for visitors of all ages and interests, from live music to magicians to restaurants and cafes to a traditional SouqTareq Zeinal; Secretary General Assistant and Board Member at QTF said, “The Qatar Tennis Federation is committed to providing the best experience for players, fans and sponsors and everyone can feel the excitement of the event through the variety of the recreational activities held at the public village.”

Marking the 24th anniversary of the tournament, this year’s Qatar ExxonMobil Open will run from January 4 – 9, 2016, bringing some of the world’s top players together to compete for the trophy and a share of the prize money. Confirmed tournament participants include defending Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2015 champion David Ferrer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Tomas BerdychTickets for the six-day event are available to the public online at www.qatartennis.org, as well as at various locations across Doha.
