Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development, a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Silatech, is participating for the second time at Darb Al Saai festivities with “Dukan Bedaya,” and this year with 31 projects. The celebrations at Darb Al Saai are a part of the many events taking place in the country for the National Day.

“Dukan” incubates 30 local startup projects from diverse sectors, who participate with their products that are related to the National Day celebrations with the aim to support local products, to promote them to the end users and the focus on encouraging ambitious projects that will create a generation of entrepreneurs responsible for contributing to building a thriving national economy. This year the Center also introduced the “Bedaya Café” competition to be the 31st project participating under the “Dukan” umbrella at Darb Al Saai, where several F&B projects competed among each other to win the one and only slot at Dukan related to this industry, and the winning project was “Grind House”.

On this occasion, Reem Al-Suwaidi, General Manager of Bedaya Center said, “Based on the success we had last year, we are taking part for the second time at “Darb al Saai” with the “Dukan Bedaya.” Last year we witnessed huge great demand for all the exhibits and a positive reaction from visitors. This year we will be present with an increase of 50% in the number of participating projects compared to 2017.” “We are always keen to take part in Darb Al Saai celebrations to raise awareness of local projects and to help Qatari youth establish and strengthen their projects. The ‘Dukan’ Initiative aims to support small and medium projects established by talented, ambitious and creative young Qataris by providing them the ideal platform to promote and showcase their products and goods in a strategic location at the heart of the most important event taking place in the country,” she added.
