In keeping with Qatari culture, Commercial Bank – one of the leading full service banks in Qatar – has celebrated the tradition of Garangao with children at the Bank’s branches and also by distributing Garangao bags to children at Hamad Hospital.

Garangao takes place on the 14th day of Ramadan and is considered a special custom of Qatar and countries in the GCC region. On Wednesday 9 July at the Bank’s D-Ring branch, and Thursday 10 July at Commercial Bank Plaza, the Bank invited customers and their young children to participate in various Garangao-themed activities including the distribution of Garangao gifts, eating traditional food and drink and a cultural competition with prizes. Both branch events were a huge success, with over 500 children and their families taking part in the Garangao celebrations and activities.
