Jaidah Automotive – a subsidiary of the long-established and influential conglomerate Jaidah Group and the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet in Qatar – announced the arrival of the 2014 Impala in Doha.

The all-new full-size flagship sedan from Chevrolet was unveiled at a special launch event presided over by Mr Mark Jenkins, General Manager of Jaidah Automotive; and Mr Bader El-Houssami, Regional Manager - General Motors, as well as other GM representatives and leading automotive media personalities.

Entering the Qatari market with new levels of comfort, safety and technology, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala is available now from Jaidah Automotive showroom in central Doha. Due to an exclusive arrangement with Chevrolet for the import and retail of its world-class automobiles, the all-new 2014 Impala will be available across the country only through Jaidah Automotive.

The 2014 Chevrolet Impala is powered by a 3.6L V6 aluminum engine with Variable Valve Timing with fuel-saving direct injection and lightweight components. Matched with a six-speed automatic transmission, it is rated at 305 horsepower and 356 Nm of torque, with excellent fuel economy of 12.4 L/100km for city driving and 8.1 L/100km on the highway. And to complement power with safety, its industry-leading safety features include 10 standard air bags, forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, rear cross traffic alert, rear camera and rear-park assist.

Inside, the 2014 Impala offers ultimate comfort in a quiet environment with spacious front and rear legroom as well as generous storage. Premium interior materials and details such as high-quality fabric, suede microfiber and perforated leather appointments, complement the quiet environment and give the Impala a substantive look and feel. Providing essential information to the driver, the instrument cluster has a rich look, with multidimensional gauges and configurable color on a 4.2-inch screen.

A prominent ‘center stack’ is integrated in the instrument panel and houses the climate controls and Chevrolet MyLink, which includes navigation and Bluetooth audio streaming among many other features – and is controlled via a touch screen on an available eight-inch display. A standard audio amplifier is a feature not typical for the segment and a Bose surround-sound audio system is available – the first in a Chevrolet car. For those equipped with available embedded navigation, drivers only need to enter destinations in a single step, which provides convenience for those who travel to the same destination regularly and save locations. And on its eight-inch touch-screen console, drivers and passengers can easily fling through lists, swipe and drag just as they would on a tablet.

Some of the other onboard features that help provide a quiet driving experience are the vehicle’s strong body structure, acoustically laminated windshield and front-door glass, liquid-applied sound deadener, sound-absorbing carpet and isolated engine cradle. Also, its stiff architecture has enabled engineers to tune the ride and handling more precisely, for a great overall feeling of control and comfort.

Offering a roomy and airy ambience, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala’s thin A-pillars and low instrument panel enhance outward visibility, and the car’s six-window ‘greenhouse’ surround occupants with natural light. The seats are bolstered for great support and seat cushions deliver a firm, premium feel that’s equally comfortable on a long journey or a five-minute trip to the store.

Introducing a new aesthetic for Chevrolet’s flagship sedan, a new classic has actually been created through very much a contemporary car with design elements, craftsmanship and attention to detail that complement its advanced technology and performance.

The Impala’s long, low proportion has a wind-swept profile that suggests motion and its range of 18-, 19- and 20-inch wheels is tailored to the body to provide that ‘just right’ stance. At the front, low-profile projector-beam headlamps – or HID headlamps and LED daytime running lamps on LTZ – sweep around the corners and frame a wide grille, while a power dome hood conveys performance. The LTZ’s LED daytime running lamps provide a contemporary visual statement, along with great visibility. And although the deck lid appears short to complement the overall proportion, it opens to reveal a trunk with 532 liters of cargo space.

Exterior colors include Black, Blue Ray Metallic, Champagne Silver Metallic, Crystal Red Tintcoat, Red Rock Metallic, Ashen Gray Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White and White Diamond Tricoat. On the other hand, its interior color choices include Brownstone, Dark Titanium, Jet Black and Mojave.

Additional available features include remote start, passive entry/exit, keyless starting, power tilting/telescoping steering column with memory, dual-zone climate control and heated and ventilated front seats. The Impala also packs great storage options, including a generous center console and a hidden storage area behind the optional motorized eight-inch color touch screen.
