The World Stadium Congress – brought to you by Vodafone Qatar will take place this month from 21-24 May at the Westin Doha, Qatar.

Supported by ASTAD Project Management, Qatar Tourism Authority, Qatar Green Building Council, Asian Football Confederation and the European Stadium & Safety Management Association (ESSMA), the event will host delegation of stadium stakeholders from over 20 countries working on leading stadium projects and tournaments globally.

Marco Cipolat, Head of Production for IQPC Middle East said, “A little over 7 years ago we launched the forum as a platform to discuss the design and development of stadia ahead of the 2022 tournament. Through close collaboration with well-respected local stakeholders such as ASTAD Project Management, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy and Qatar Tourism Authority, and through partnerships with notable international industry experts and associations such as ESSMA, the congress has grown into a leading global platform for leaders in sport infrastructure and tournament delivery. This year is no different as we see representatives from organisations including Real Madrid, La Liga, Singapore Sports Hub, AT&T Stadium, World Rugby, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, ASTAD Project Management and many more.”

Participating as one of the supporting partners for the event, ASTAD quoted, "World Stadium Congress provides a platform for discussions on best practice solutions, future projects and international case studies on some of the most renowned stadiums in the world. The event helps ensure preparations are aligned with the several stadiums under development for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar™, and provides an incentive to drive sporting excellence in Qatar. At ASTAD, it is imperative that we deliver sports facilities not only for the World Cup, but for the Qatar National Vision 2030, ensuring we continue to embrace our nation’s commitment to sport with sustainable world-class sports facilities."

The 4-day congress will feature a Welcome to Qatar Day (sponsored by Qatar Tourism Authority), a 2-day conference, a gala dinner and awards ceremony as well as a stadium safety and security workshop led by ESSMA. Playing host to the Welcome to Qatar Day, Ahmed Al Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at QTA, commented, “World Stadium Congress is a testament to the power that business events have in raising the profile of a destination. With hundreds of delegates and speakers from over 20 countries coming together in Doha, this event provides a great opportunity to shine a spotlight on Qatar’s growing event facilities and authentic hospitality. We look forward to welcoming World Stadium Congress visitors and working with the organisers to ensure they have a smooth and memorable experience within and beyond the conference venue.”

Alongside the conference, there will also be an exhibition of 35+ leading stadium solution and technology providers including Vodafone Qatar, who will be participating as a Title Sponsor, along with companies including Al Ta'adhod (Gree Qatar & Eastern Synergy), Comba Telecom, Eaton, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics, GigaTera, Space Hellas, LG Electronics, Schneider Electric, WATERMASTER, Tecnovision and more.
