Following the successful launch of its first leadership development programme, Qatar Leadership Centre (QLC) yesterday revealed the launch of its next year-long programme to hone the leadership talents of high potential executives in Qatar.

As Qatar continues to make great strides towards its future, developing the leadership capacity of its most valued asset remains a key focus for QLC. The much-anticipated Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme targets mid- to senior-level professionals between the ages of 36 through 46.

The programme not only broadens the leadership audience QLC intends developing, but also brings invaluable leadership training to more experienced senior Qataris across both private and public sectors.

At the start of this year, QLC delivered the first in a series of modules through the renowned University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Harvard Business School for its inaugural Current and Future Leaders Programme for Qatari professionals between the ages of 25 through 35.

This step further allows applicants from a more senior line of Qatari executives to participate in the 2012 Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme. The new programme is open to all professionals in executive management positions who possess a good command of Arabic and English, have a minimum of 10 years' workplace experience, and hold at least a bachelor's degree.

Employer nomination for prospective participants is accepted, as well as self-nomination from all genders, online via the QLC website only. High potential managers who are convinced they have what it takes to help lead Qatar into a brighter future are encouraged to apply sooner rather than later.

Online application close on 30 April 2012. After a rigorous screening process, successful applications will embark on their 15-month long leadership programme.

The selection process will ensure acceptance based on merit and a gender-balanced group of participants. The process starts with online nomination, followed by a series of activities such as a panel interview, psychometric- and an assessment test.

The Current and Future Executive Leaders Programme will cover critical leadership factors such as agile and global leadership, crisis management, human resource management, emotional intelligence and the power of negotiation. Further to classroom learning with some of the most respected educational institutions in the world, participants will be given a rigorous reading list and be exposed to international best practise through travel.
