Qatar Charity (QC), with funding from the Qatar Fund For Development(QFFD), is preparing to implement the project to furnish 40 schools and 8 health centres in the Darfur states of Sudan, as part of the second phase of the State of Qatar's Darfur Development Initiative.

The QC has signed an agreement with a Qatari company to manufacture furniture, according to the highest international quality standards. Qatar Charity said in a press release on Wednesday that it will provide school furniture, laboratories and libraries to 40 schools with 14,400 students as well as eight health centres. QC noted that it is establishing eight service complexes in the states of south, north, east and central Darfur, as part of the second phase of Qatar's initiative for the development of Darfur, which includes construction of 10 service complexes in the five Darfur states with funding from Qatar Fund For Development.

Qatar Charity's eight complexes include 40 primary and secondary schools, kindergartens, 120 housing units, a number of health centres, mosques, police stations, water and solar power plants.
