HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani, stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Poland, especially as they share a promising vision and great aspirations for the stability and prosperity of their friendly peoples.

This came Friday, in HE the Minister's inaugural speech of at the Qatari-Polish Forum, which was held in Warsaw, coinciding with the visit of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Republic of Poland, with the participation of a large number of Qatari and Polish ministers and officials. HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce said that the two countries have great potential to increase cooperation in various fields, pointing out that the value of Qatar's exports to Poland rose significantly during 2016 to reach about USD 325 million. Meanwhile, the value of Polish exports to the State of Qatar has continuously increased over the past five years to reach USD 133 million in 2016. 

He noted that the economic agreements signed between the two countries which can allow stronger bonds between the two countries' economies, pointing out that investors can benefit from the strategic location of the State of Qatar, which represents a distinctive link between the East and the West, especially with Qatar's logistical infrastructure that can be used to export industrial and agricultural products to the Middle East, Asia and Europe, in addition to the possibility of benefitting from Qatar Airways, the new port, and the economic zones in the country. 

HE the Minister pointed out that the State of Qatar can be a gateway to the transit of Polish products to the common market of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as well as the Greater Arab Free Trade Area. In this context, he called on citizens to invest more in the competitive sectors in the Republic of Poland, specifically in the sectors concerned with the industrial sector.
