The Qatar University (QU) College of Business & Economics (CBE) has announced that it is preparing to open an Investment Center next Sunday.

According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the Center is part of the agreement forged between CBE and Al-Faisal Holdings to establish an Investment Fund by which CBE students can be trained in the practice of capital investment, portfolio development and fund management.
The Fund is managed by Qatar National Bank (QNB).

The inauguration of the Center will be conducted by QU President Prof Skeikha Abdulla Al-Misnad in the presence of Board Chairman of Qatari Business Association and Chairman of Al-Faisal Holdings Sheikh Faisal Bin Qasim Al-Thani, QNB officials, CBE faculty and students, the press release said.

Sheikh Faisal's participation in the ceremony comes at the time of his selection as Executive-in-Residence (EIR) at CBE for the month of February. The EIR is an honorary position established by the College last year to bring top leaders in Qatar into the College's classrooms in an effort to link academics with practice to provide applied management education for its students.

CBE Dean Dr. Nitham Hindi said: "The Center is an important resource for our students as they tackle the crucial issues of investment responsibility, financial crisis management and other related areas of current significance worldwide and especially in the region''.

''We are pleased to partner with Al-Faisal Holdings in this venture and equally pleased that Sheikh Faisal is on hand to witness the results of our agreement. His tenure as Executive-in-Residence this month is a perfect opportunity for our students to get first-hand knowledge from a leading figure in business and finance in Qatar," Nitham Hindi added.
The Center will be located in the Men's College of Business & Economics building.
