The ongoing 'Power Parachutes' aerial tour, organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) in association with the Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC) as parts of the Eid celebration activities, has continued to generate rave reviews among participants.

Seeking an unconventional way to spend their holidays, many citizens and residents as well as tourists are trooping to the Sealine area to give air sports a go. The event offers them the rare opportunity of experiencing birds-eye view of Sealine's sand dunes at Messaieed. "As a tourist, I was looking for some new and fun activity. Once I was at the Qatari borders, I was handed a brochure about the Eid festival here and I got interested in the Parachuting. It became number one on my to-do list", Ali al Hassan, who is on his second trip to Qatar from Saudi Arabia enthusiastically told Qatar Tribune upon his 'landing'.

"The experience was amazing and well worth the long trip. I encourage everyone to give this a try", the Riyadh resident added. Hammam al Khashman and his fianc` Lubna, who found out about the Power Parachute tour through Facebook, seemed to agree."Living in Qatar, we like to try new activities and take on an adventure whenever one is available. Qatar has many sports to try and today it was Power Parachuting time. The tour in the air is a lot of fun and a unique experience", Hammam said.

"This turned out to be really enjoyable having that aerial view of the sand dunes. It was a different experience. We would like to try it again if we can", his fianc` Lubna commented. Another tourist from Saudi Arabia came to Sealine Beach area with his friends to try Power Parachuting and ended up loving it as well."Once I read about the Eid activities in Qatar, I immediately wanted to try the Power Parachuting. I recommend others to do it as it turned out to be 15 minutes of pure fun", Jihad said.

Even though visitors had a lot of fun touring the sand dunes in their Parachutes, QASC Director Mahdi al Qahtani said that they made sure the trip was safe and secure for everyone. "All our captains are well trained and certified to fly a Power Parachute. We fly in a designated perimeter and follow a set of safety and security standards in cooperation with relevant authorities," he said. "We perform equipment checkups as well as ensure that both the captain and the attendant are wearing safety helmets and have working radio communication for a fun as well as safe trip", he added.

The Power Parachutes tour programme runs till Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Sealine Beach area, before Sealine Beach Resort roundabout. Tickets are available on-site at QR 250 per person.
