McDonald’s Qatar, designed to be a family-friendly restaurant environment, has launched a new brand campaign that highlights the transformative power of reading. The “Happy Readers” campaign emphasizes the significance of reading books in the younger generation and families by giving away free books in every Happy Meal, with this activity, it keeps a special bond between the parents and their children’s while reading the books together. 

The campaign started to roll out on March 4 and will continue through an activation called “Share a Story, which is designed to be a competition aiming to encourage and motivate children to write their own story, in their own words.

McDonald’s Qatar kicks-off 2 [].jpgA program that aims to inspire the family to explore the campaign further and realize how much fun reading can be, is open to all children aged 7 to 12 years old.  Entries will be accepted beginning March 4th, 2019 at all McDonald’s restaurants up until Dec 31st, 2019. The submitted entries will be assessed and each participating restaurant will select one best story per month. The winners will be awarded with gift packs, Happy meal vouchers, and recognition certificates, in addition to many other surprises that are yet to come.

Ghada Kamal, Marketing Manager of McDonald’s Qatar (Al Mana Restaurants & Food Co), expressed her excitement to receive entries to be included in a compendium of the best stories submitted in the competition. She said, "McDonald’s is a place where parents and children come for a treat, with this, we would like to become part of their experience through reading collective books in our restaurant. The Share A Story is a unique initiative that encourages and inspire students to read more books to enlighten them with true knowledge on the reading books and further hone their talents. It is an exceptional opportunity with the family to have fun during mealtime. We are giving the children a chance to share their thoughts, stories, and experiences.”
