Large numbers of school children, families and adults alike have taken part in the Aspire 1st International Kite Festival.

There they have enjoyed seeing professional kite flyers in action and taken part in community activities and fun workshops aimed at providing inspiration and ideas for how to build and decorate a kite, as well as tips and tricks for flying them and easy to follow explanations of kite aerodynamics.

The festival kicked off on Tuesday, with teams of top international kite flyers from 13 countries competing in a range of individual and team sports kite events. A range of synchronised kite performances and displays have also taken place throughout the festival. The festival finishes on Saturday April 29 in a closing ceremony taking during the evening at Aspire Park. For more information and for a full timetable of activities, please visit:
