Various aspects of the partnership between relevant UN organisations, the Police College and the Human Rights Department of the Ministry of Interior have been discussed at a meeting held earlier this week, said Gulf Times. On the occasion, Police College Director-General Brigadier Mohamed Abdullah al-Muhana al-Marri met with a UN delegation, which included Dr Mona Rishmawi, chief of the Rule of Law, Equality and Non-Discrimination Branch in the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, and Dr Obaid Ahmed Obaid, United Nations centre director for training and documentation of human rights in southwest Asia and the Arab region. Director of the Ministry of Interior’s Human Rights Department Brigadier Abdullah Saqr al-Mohannadi and a number of academics at the Police College also attended the meeting, which discussed prospects for co-operation in training on the application of human rights concepts.
