Qatar Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) organised, through the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed), special events on the occasion of the World Water Day, which falls on March 22.

The activities, which began on March 19, will continue until March 21 at Kahramaa Awareness Park. The events are being held under the slogan ‘Water for All’. The events focus on highlighting water issues and the importance of providing water to all sectors of the society, so that no one is left behind, which is the theme of this year’s World Water Day.

On the occasion, Kahramaa celebrates its keenness to achieve the sixth goal of sustainable water development to ensure safe water for all by 2030 and sustainable water management. This comes in line with the corporation’s mission to provide sustainable and high-quality electricity and water for a better life in Qatar. The celebration included a number of activities to raise awareness about the importance of rationalisation and water efficiency to achieve sustainability, featuring a series of practical workshops such as water filtration methods and water recycling as well as painting and colouring, storytelling, among others.

The Kahramaa Awareness Park received a number of students from various educational stages (elementary, preparatory and secondary) as well as groups of government and private sector employees every day from 8am to 12 noon during the celebration days.
