Josoor Institute successfully completed the first set of training and development programmes for this year. The programmes focused on the various aspects of the ‘business of football’ and included a ‘professional development workshop’, a ‘masterclass’, a student ‘outreach’ session and an ‘executive networking’ session. The programmes ran from 28-30 March 2017.

The 3-day professional development workshop focused on the newest developments in the fan experience, as well as analysing various facets of stadium management. The workshop also explored marketing in football and effective strategies to engage football fans and the best practises in relation to governance of football organisations. The masterclass on ‘Best Practice in Governance: The Asian Football Confederation’ discussed the organisational structure that the AFC utilises to achieve their organisational aims, as well as the accountability and responsibility employed. The student outreach programme looked at the ‘The Digital Transformation of a Leading European Football Club’.

Delegates examined the current state of digital media, the direction of digital trends and the implications of advancements in digital media in the future. The executive networking session on ‘The Latest Developments and Challenges in the Business of Football’ saw senior executives in Qatar’s football industry meet and explore the current trends in the business of football. The programmes welcomed renowned speakers from around the world including: Romy Gai the Chief Executive Officer of AWE Sports International Ltd, Phil Carling the Managing Director of Football of Octagon Worldwide and Alex Phillips, Head of Stakeholder Affairs at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) among others.
