Al Noimi congratulated Dr Al Kuwari on behalf of HMC, saying that the award crowns her successful career and immense contributions to Qatar’s healthcare sector. Dr Al Kuwari’s tenure as HMC’s managing director witnessed some of the organization’s most significant achievements, including the international accreditation and reaccreditation by the Joint Commission International (JCI) of its five hospitals – a first for a public healthcare organization in the Gulf region, as well as the first accreditation of its kind in the region for HMC’s home healthcare services.

His Excellency Dr Mohamed bin Hamad Al Thani, Director of Public Health at the Supreme Council of Health congratulated Dr Al Kuwari for winning the award, saying this was a deserved recognition for her relentless efforts in the development of HMC and the enhancement of its performance in all aspects of healthcare.

“Dr Hanan Al Kuwari is a shining example of the new generation of Qatari women who have realized remarkable achievements for their country, through her outstanding performance in her field of expertise. We wish her all success,” said Al Thani.

Speaking on HMC’s participation in the event, Al Thani said, ”The international prestige that HMC has gained during its successful journey puts it in a position to share its experience with healthcare institutions and other companies in the region. The event also allows HMC to benefit from the expertise of other participants from the region’s healthcare sector.”

The Outstanding Arab Ladies in the Healthcare Industry Award was one of a number of excellence awards given by the AHF during Medhealth 2011. Other awards include Pioneer Leaders in Healthcare Systems Development; Quality Leader in Healthcare and Education; Excellence in the Development of the Arab Healthcare Sector; Healthcare Excellence in Al-Maghreb Al-Arabie and Experts Quality Award.

The award was given during the opening session of Medhealth, which was held simultaneously with the 35th meeting of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council, where His Excellency Abdulllah Al Qahtani, Qatar’s Minister of Public Health participated. HE Dr Khalifeh and other Arab health ministers toured HMC’s pavilion at the exhibition. Al Noimi handed over the plaque of HMC to the Lebanese Minister, who in turn praised HMC’s participation in the event.

Medhealth Beirut 2011 was organized by the AHF in collaboration with the Arab Ministries of Health, the League of Arab States, the Executive Board of the Health Ministers’ Council for the Cooperation Council States, the World Health Organization, the Arab League for Quality Healthcare Services, and other organizations and associations in the Arab healthcare sector.
