HEC Paris, ranked number two worldwide for Executive Education by the Financial Times in 2015, reinforces its commitment to knowledge-based management and leadership with the running of a Masterclass on “Leading Innovative Strategies – Challenges and Best Practices”. The class will be led by Professor Roger Hallowell on Tuesday 31 May 2016 at the Tornado Tower, West Bay, Doha. During this highly interactive Masterclass, Professor Hallowell will showcase innovative strategies that leaders develop and implement in disruptive technologies and also when transforming commoditized products.

The class will feature two engaging case studies. The first is on Netflix, which is a classic example of how to deal with a disruptive technology: what to do, and what not to do, if faced with a similar disruption in your business. The second case study puts the spotlight on an example of a business that transformed itself from a traditional manufacturer or what is known as a “break-fix service” into a value-added provider of genuine solutions.

The Masterclass will also cover topics related to strategy, innovation, operations and human resources. It will be a multi-disciplinary session that is useful for prospects from various business sectors and will give a feel for what the HEC Paris Executive MBA offers. Professor Roger Hallowell is the Academic Director of programs for managers and executives in the fields of strategy and business policy, as well as leadership. He teaches regularly on the HEC Paris Executive MBA.

Until recently, Professor Hallowell was a managing partner at the Center for Executive Development comprising a number of former Harvard professors. He is an authority on strategic initiatives with the goal of simultaneous cost reduction and quality improvement. As author of numerous papers his work has appeared in Academy of Management Executive, Human Resource Management amongst others.
