HEC Paris in Qatar, one of the world’s leading providers of Executive Education, is hosting a public Masterclass in Doha aimed at developing participants’ motivational skills and enhancing engagement techniques.

The Masterclass, titled ‘Motivation, Engagement and Dissatisfaction, will be held on May 2, from 5.30 to 7.30pm, at the HEC Paris campus in Tornado Tower, Doha. Delivered by HEC Paris Affiliate Professor Matt Mulford, the Masterclass will examine what makes team members satisfied and engaged within an organization and how to motivate those who feel dissatisfied and disengaged. Professor Mulford is an expert in negotiation analysis, effective business decision making and leadership. In this Masterclass, he will introduce participants to the differences in intrinsic and extrinsic motivation as levers in driving morale and improving employee engagement in a competitive, fast-paced marketplace.

For example, a poor salary makes us unhappy, so a good salary will make us happy.  An opaque and unfair evaluation and promotion procedure make us unhappy, so a transparent and fair system will make us happy. However, such assumptions are not actually true. The things that drive engagement are not the same things that drive dissatisfaction. During this session, we will explore the difference in the natural drive to succeed and external factors such as grades, recognition and remuneration.”

The Masterclass will present participants with a clear understanding of the quality of education they will be exposed to by enrolling in one of HEC Paris’ in Qatar executive degree programs: the Executive MBA program, which is the only one of its kind in Qatar, and the Specialized Master. The EMBA core curriculum focuses on strategy and leadership and how the current global business environment may have an impact on decisions. The Specialized Master’s Degree in Business Unit Management is designed for professionals and entrepreneurs looking at enhancing their leadership and management skills.  The upcoming intakes are February 2019 for the Executive MBA and July 2018 for the Specialized Masters in Strategic Business Unit Management.
