ExxonMobil Qatar and the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) jointly hosted a gala dinner earlier this week to launch the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2016. The event was attended by Qatar’s key business and community leaders, in addition to several of the tennis players competing in this tournament such as stars World no. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, David Ferrer and Thomas Berdych.

The evening included a full entertainment program of intriguing dance and magic performances. Novak Djokovic took part ina magic show with world-famous English magician Drummond Money-Coutts (DMC), to the excitement and amusement of the gala’s guests. His Excellency Nasser Al-Khelaifi, President of the Qatar Tennis Federation, and Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager for ExxonMobil Qatar, welcomed the evening’s guests and highlighted the strong partnership their respective organizations share.

“It is an honor to welcome you all to this gala dinner to celebrate the launch of the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2016,” said Routledge. “Today we celebrate 22 years of partnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation and the start of another exciting tournament. It is always a pleasure to host our valued guests in Doha for this occasion, and to showcase Qatar as a destination for hosting world-class sporting events.”

Marking the 24th anniversary of the tournament, this year’s Qatar ExxonMobil Open will run from January 4 – 9, 2016,bringing some of the world’s top players together to compete for the trophy and a share of the prize money.
