As part of its official partnership with the Qatar Tennis Federation to organize the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2015, ExxonMobil Qatar has announced a variety of events that will be available to all tournament visitors at its stand in the Public Village.

“The Qatar ExxonMobil Open continues to gain momentum as a premier world-class sporting event, thanks to the hard work and commitment of His Excellency Nasser Al Khelaifi and the entire team at the Qatar Tennis Federation,” said Alistair Routledge, President and General Manager of ExxonMobil Qatar Inc.  “For more than two decades, the tournament has attracted some of the biggest stars in the world of tennis, and continues to promote the importance of sports in building a healthier and prosperous society, while offering a wonderful venue, and fun-filled activities for families to enjoy.”

As part of a multitude of activities at its stand in the Public Village, and due to popular demand, ExxonMobil Qatar has brought back the Formula One (F1) Grand Prix simulator, which will provide visitors with an interactive and realistic racing experience based on a full-size specification Formula One (F1) racing car.  With all the features of an F1 racing car, including authentic padded cockpit headrest, four-point racing harness, F1 style gear lever paddles, and a quick release F1 style carbon fibre steering wheel, the Mobil 1 Grand Prix simulator will allow ‘drivers’ to experience the unique movement of the car under realistic acceleration, braking and cornering conditions.  A built-in 5.1 surround sound system provides users with a full-sensory experience.

ExxonMobil Qatar will also hand out gifts during the “ExxonMobil Minute” breaks throughout the tournament.  After each match, a tennis star will sign tennis balls and serve them randomly for the crowds to catch and win exciting electronics prizes.  Moreover, visitors to the ExxonMobil stand in the Public Village will be able to pick up tennis balls signed by tennis players who visit the stand daily. A variety of entertainment ranging from live music to magicians, restaurants and cafes, a traditional Souq, and various merchandising booths will also be available at the Public Village, catering to all ages and interests.

Marking the 23rd anniversary of the tournament, this year’s Qatar ExxonMobil Open will run from January 5 – 10, 2015, and will see some of the world’s top players competing for the trophy and a share of the multimillion dollar prize money.  Confirmed tournament participants include defending Qatar ExxonMobil Open champion Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, David Ferrer, and Tomas Berdych. Tickets for the six-day event are available to the public online at www.qatartennis.org, as well as at various locations across Doha.
