The Emir Cup Trophy Tour visited Othman Bin Affan Model School for Boys in which a large number of students and staff members took part and gathered around the trophy for a memorable photo opportunity with the most coveted prize, the Emir Cup trophy.

The visit to Othman Bin Affan Model School included a fun-packed day in which the students performed a specially choreographed dance to celebrate the fact that the Emir Cup Trophy Tour made a stop in their school ahead of the final match.

The QFA delegation consisted of Ali Al Salat, Head of Media, Noora Al Tammimi, Head of Social Responsibility, Abdulrahman Abdul Jabar, Social Media Specialist, Nabil Qayed and Mohammed Hashim, Schools Coordinators. As part of its’ mission to educate the students about the importance of taking part in sports and adopting a healthy lifestyle, visited Othman Bin Affan Model School for Boys celebrated the Emir Cup Trophy Tour by organizing a mini football tournament for the students along with countless sports activities.

Asim Madibo and Yousif Hassan of Al Gharafa and Abdullah Taleb Afifa of Al Ahli shared the pitch with the students as an impassioned series of matches were at the epicenter of a memorable football day. The day also involved organizing a small exhibition in which health advisors gave advice and tips to the school children about healthy eating and lifestyle, importance of taking part in sports and staying active during and after school hours.

Aisha Al Ahbabi, Principal of Othman Bin Affan School commented: “It is a pleasure for the school to host the Emir Cup Trophy Tour; this tournament is of utmost importance to us and the school children and we are all excited to be part of the final match on 19 May. This tournament is one of the most significant tournaments in Qatar in which all clubs are competing to win, to have the honor to meet in person His Highness the Emir, Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.”

Organizing the Trophy Tour illustrates QFA’s objective to instill a football culture amongst school students at a young age. The tour will continue until the day of the final as football fans across the country interact with players and officials and engage in conversations related to the country’s popular football event.
