Indian cricket fans danced in absolute joy, some even were seen waving the national flags, after India beat arch-rivals Pakistan in the cricket World Cup semi-final. India edged Pakistan by 29 runs to set up final date against Sri Lanka. The final will be played in Mumbai on Saturday.

Doha residents flocked to numerous eating joints which had put up large TV screens to watch live proceedings from Mohali. Many eateries made quick cash after fans booked seats to watch the game live. One place reserved a seat each for as much as QR50.

The Bright Future Pakistani School had made arrangements for community members to watch the match on a giant television screen erected in its auditorium.
