Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence, by implementing an effective top food safety management system.

In recognition of the implementation of the system the Academy has been awarded with International HACCP Certification by SGS (Société Générale de Surveillance).

The audit was successfully completed by SGS - the World’s leading inspection, verification testing and certification company on 9November 2010.

HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) is an international principle defining the requirements for effective control of food safety. The process encompasses food safety hazards identification and rectification as a means of prevention, during the food production process.

Mr. Ali Salem Afifa, Head of General Services at Aspire Academy, formally received the certificate from Jose Alex, Manager, SGS Consumer Testing Services - Qatar, during a simple ceremony at the Academy.

“ASPIRE Academy is always striving to achieve best practice in all of our departments and we are delighted to receive this certification as a tribute to the system we have implemented and the hard work of the staff,” said Mr. Afifa.

The HACCP initiative was undertaken to assure parents,students and academy guests that the highest standard of food hygiene and healthy nutrition is adopted in the Academy.

Completion and implementation of the HACCP system demonstrates Aspire Academy’s commitment to remain a leading elite sport institute in the region.
