From September 12 until October 21, Qatar Leadership Centre’s (QLC) application period opens for qualified Qatari professionals looking to further develop their leadership abilities.

QLC invites Qataris who stand out in their field and are committed to learning to take part in a yearlong, multidisciplinary program. QLC’s Executive Leaders, Rising Leaders and Government Leaders programs are open to participants from all sectors aiming to enhance their career and deepen their contribution to Qatar’s development goals. Qualified individuals can apply online for the 2018-2019 programs. Since its inception, Qatar Leadership Centre has empowered Qatari leaders to contribute to the country’s success. More than 400 high-performing Qatari professionals have completed QLC’s National Leadership Programs.

QLC’s Executive Leaders Program, Rising Leaders Program and Government Leaders Program require a time commitment of three to five days per month over the course of a year, and can be completed in parallel with professional responsibilities. Approval from the participant’s employer is required before enrollment. H.E. Sheikh Dr. Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, Board Member and Managing Director of QLC, noted: “Ensuring Qatar’s sustainable development and growth remains our top priority. QLC facilitates best practice learning to build strong leaders in the community. Through the National Leadership Programs, talented and dedicated professionals learn how to expand their impact and contribute to the prosperity of future generations.”

QLC participants gain insights on an array of topics, including strategic planning, risk management, building high-performance teams and innovation. The training is comprised of modules designed by some of the most renowned institutions from around the world. QLC has cultivated partnerships with Harvard Business School, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, HEC Paris, Cambridge Judge Business School, Duke Corporate Education, Al Jazeera Media Institute and many others to administer the highest quality of instruction. In innovative modules, participants master various management methodologies and advanced negotiation techniques, as well as lessons on creating innovation in the workplace.

Participants also engage in substantive discussions with prominent C-suite level guest speakers from public and private sectors. These discussions are an integral part of the QLC curriculum and supplement theoretical training with real-world knowledge. For many, a highlight of the QLC programs is the Learning Journey, which brings the participants to global hubs for innovation and good governance. In previous years, Executive Leaders have visited Rice University’s Baker Institute in Houston, Texas, USA to discuss trends and policies related to the energy industry. Rising Leaders traveled to Tokyo, Japan, to explore leading management techniques. Government Leaders explored how policies set by the civil service impact urban development in Singapore.

Enrollment in one of the three programs is preceded by a rigorous selection process that takes into account work experience, academic background and business acumen amongst other requirements. To enter the Executive Leaders Program, Qatari professionals must be between the ages of 36 and 46 with at least 10 years of work experience. Eligibility requirements for application also include having a bachelor’s degree, along with a dual proficiency in English and Arabic. Meanwhile, Qatari professionals seeking to apply for the Rising Leaders Program must have obtained a bachelor’s degree and be between the ages of 25 and 35 with at least three years of work experience.
