Alfardan Automobiles, the official MINI importer in Qatar, has posted an impressive 18% increase in MINI sales for the first half of this year – the brand’s best half-year performance ever in Qatar. The MINI 3-Door Hatch saw the highest growth, with a 185% surge in sales in comparison to the same six-month period last year. Also contributing to the outstanding half-year performance was the MINI 5-Door Hatch, which arrived in the market late last year.

Ihab Allam, General Manager of Alfardan Automobiles, commented: “MINI has had an exceptional six months here in Qatar – an achievement largely driven by the British icon’s portfolio of best-in-class models coupled with its limitless variety of equipment and accessories through the MINI Yours programme that allows customers to make their MINI unique to them. We’re now looking firmly in to the future and have no doubt that the brand will remain on track on this journey of success, which we will help drive via our new state-of-the-art standalone showroom.”

Setting new standards within its competitive segment in terms of legroom, headroom and boot space, the MINI 5-Door Hatch boasts two engine variants of BMW Group's latest generation 3 and 4-cylinder engines with TwinPower Turbo Technology. The 4-cylinder petrol engine in the MINI Cooper S 5 door is 192hp and the three-cylinder petrol engine with a peak output of 136hp. The MINI 3-Door hatch also comes with a three-cylinder and four-cylinder engines using a six-speed automatic gearbox and MINI TwinPower Turbo technology. The Cooper is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, with outputs of 136hp, while the Cooper S 2.0 litre 4-cylinder unit outputs 192 hp with maximum torque of 280 Nm reaching 0-100 km in 6.7 seconds.

Alfardan Automobiles enjoy record 3 [].jpgAlfardan Automobiles will also be getting ready for the arrival of the all-new MINI Clubman, which joins the importer’s showroom in early 2016. At just over 32 cm longer and around 12 cm wider than its predecessor, it will provide plenty of space to meet the demands for youthful and urban mobility. Pared down to the essentials, the side view exhibits its qualities at first glance. Classic MINI design cues, such as wheels at the far corners of the car, short overhangs and the incipient wedge shape of the side, signal the dynamic driving experience before a wheel has even turned, while its familiar compact proportions hold the promise of that genuine go-kart feeling. At the same time the stretched roofline and four fully-fledged side-doors indicate a larger interior and enhanced functionality. Liberal surface areas convey supreme elegance, while taut lines elongate the side view and fine contouring adds classy highlights and extra dynamics.

The interior of the new MINI Clubman has also expanded along with the exterior. The cabin’s new dimensions are made palpable through a generous sweep, clear surfaces and a more “grown-up” sense of space, which is where the new MINI Clubman reveals a new level of exclusivity and style. “We have no doubt that the launch of the all-new MINI Clubman in early 2016 will be a key driver in our success next year. We can’t wait to see people’s reaction to it when it hits the Qatari roads,” added Allam.
