The Ministry of Public Health announced the registration of 392 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and the recovery of 9 cases of the virus, bringing the total number of people to have recovered from COVID-19 in the State of Qatar to 415. The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar till now stands at 4103 and there are 3681 active cases under treatment. The death toll till date due to Covid19 in Qatar is 7.

The General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has commenced a campaign to deliver food baskets to 1,035 needy families for three months. The families are registered under the ministry’s Families and Childhood Care Fund campaign.

Net Profit attributable to the Shareholders of the Bank amounted to QAR 687.5 Million for the three months’ period ended March 2020 in line with the same period in 2019.

After the recent announcement of imposition of financial penalties on Horizon Crescent Wealth LLC (“HCW”) for failings regarding Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Terrorist Financing Rules 2010 (“AML/CFTR”), the Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA) announced today that it has also fined the company over QAR 1 million for contraventions of provisions of the QFCA Rules.
